The team was started in 1984 by a small group of enterprising students with the assistance of Coach Joe Creed who was acutally coaching another high school team at the time. At its peak in the early 2000s, the team had grown to about 100 rowers before the opening of Forest Park and the changing of boundaries. Today the team averages about 35-40 rowers per season and 4 full time coaches.
In recent years, the team has had several accomplishments at the State Level Championships including earning the Men's Team Trophy two out of three years and the Women's Lightweight 4 champion in 2003.
